Thank you, girls, for your dedication and hard work!
Mt. Spokane High School was proud to have three of our talented musicians attend the All-State/All-Northwest music festival and conference in Portland, Oregon. These students had to submit a set audition electronically and were chosen for this prestigious opportunity by a panel of professional musicians and music educators.
Congratulations Natalie, John and Patrick! We are proud of you!

John Hoover has had quite a weekend!
First, a memorable run at Mat Classic resulted in a state wrestling championship at 145 pounds. As if this wasn’t enough, John was also recognized as the 3A academic state championship in his weight class. . . what an honor!
Now, thanks to KXLY’s “Shining Star” program, John has been recognized by the news station for his efforts both inside and outside the classroom.
Congratulations, John! You are most deserving!

The Mt. Spokane Wrestling program capped their best season in school history with a memorable weekend at the state championships, (Mat Classic), in Tacoma this past weekend.
Seven wrestlers qualified for Mat Classic including Pete Wilkes, Alec Hoover, Christian Nibarger, Richie Bondurant, Kiegen Schauer, John Hoover and Tom Harvey. When the weekend finished, all seven wrestlers won a match with Christian Nibarger placing 5th, Kiegen Schauer and Tom Harvey placing second, and John Hoover winning a state championship. The efforts of these seven athletes resulted in a 5th place team finish and a strong desire to return in 2014. As the hours flew by at the Tacoma Dome, I couldn’t have felt more pride in any group of student/athletes. Truly, it was a wonderful time for the boys who competed and the families and friends who traveled in support.
Additionally, all three wrestlers who made the state finals, (Kiegen Schauer, Tom Harvey and John Hoover), were also recognized as state academic championship in their respective weight classes. Mt. Spokane was the only 3A or 4A school to have three academic state champions, and these accolades made a clear statement that Mt. Spokane wrestlers are champions both inside the classroom and on the mat. Congratulations, Kiegen, Tom and John for your ability to achieve in both arenas!
Great job Wildcat Wrestling! I look forward to a great 2013-14 season!
What an experience!
Students in Bill Patrick’s Aerospace Engineering program took a visit to Fairchild AFB last week to take a tour and watch their learning in action. As a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) course at Mt. Spokane, these students are in their third year of engineering and have the ability to earn college credit while taking coursework in high school.
Thanks to Bill for his willingness to schedule this memorable opportunity for our students!

A magical season continues for the MSHS gymnastics program.
After a regular season that saw our gymnasts set a record for most points scored in a GSL meet, the team took regionals by storm. Led by ninth-grader, and state qualifier, Jade Anderson, our girls placed third as a team. . . the best in school history!
Congratulations to our coaches and student/athletes! Best of luck to Jade as she represents MSHS in Tacoma this upcoming weekend!
